MEET OUR TEAM
LOCAL CAMBODIAN LEADERSHIP TEAM
At CVO, we're all about glorifying God by living out His commands. We provide both spiritual and physical support to communities, empowering and equipping local Cambodian believers to reach their neighbors.
John Kim
Pastor & Village Outreach Coordinator Anyone who has visited Siem Reap, Cambodia, likely remembers John. His radiant smile reflects the light of Jesus.
A devoted servant, John seeks only to fulfill God's purpose. Despite being the sole believer in his family, he steadfastly follows his calling. At Cambodia Village Outreach, John dedicates himself fully to both the children's program and follow-up/discipleship work. |
Chanthorn Huon
Women Ministry & Child Sponsorship Program Director Growing up in extreme poverty, Chanthorn was unable to finish her schooling. Following her family's escape from the Khmer Rouge and their subsequent discovery of faith in a refugee camp, she embarked on a life dedicated to serving others.
Chanthorn poured her energy into working with children and teenagers through various churches and organizations before joining CVO in 2015. Today, her contributions are invaluable to both the women's ministry and the child sponsorship program at CVO. |
Kerm Laiy (Rebecca)
Children Ministry Director Kerm Laiy (Rebecca) shines with a vibrant passion for sharing Jesus' love with children and her dedication is truly remarkable. As the sole believers in her family, Kerm Laiy and her sister stand strong in their faith.
After volunteering with us since January 2019, Kerm Laiy officially became a staff member in April of that year. Kerm Laiy currently juggles her work at CVO with her studies and volunteer work at her local church with impressive skill. Her time at CVO has been a journey of significant growth, nurturing her confidence and skills in children's ministry. Kerm Laiy is developing into a beautiful, godly woman with a sincere heart for service and now capably leads the children's program each week. Kerm Laiy is now leading our Children Ministry as Children Ministry Director. Her role adds a valuable asset to CVO and God is using her talent and gift to further the Kingdom. |
Pak Chantrea
Children Program Assistant Growing up in a devout Buddhist family, Chantrea's life was deeply intertwined with her religious traditions. The pursuit of truth and a life outside this framework wasn't even a consideration. Little did she know, a different path awaited her. When her family faced financial difficulties in supporting her higher education, Chantrea was compelled to explore other options.
A pivotal moment arrived when she had the opportunity to move to Siem Reap city in Cambodia to pursue her aspirations at a Christian Center. It was there that a new chapter in her life began to unfold. Although her initial exposure to the Gospel led to rejection, the seeds of faith were sown in her heart. Following a series of challenging and unjust experiences, Chantrea humbled herself and sought divine intervention from the person she had heard about – the one who cared for her. In a miraculous turn of events, Jesus intervened, resolving her problems and answering her prayers. This experience led Chantrea to a profound realization: Jesus was real and deeply invested in both her well-being and her spiritual life. Having accepted Christ, Chantrea felt a strong desire to share His love with others. She began to pray for opportunities to minister to children and adults in her village, hoping they too would experience salvation and a transformed life with a greater purpose. Cambodia Village Outreach (CVO) is empowering Chantrea to utilize her talents and her calling to evangelize, disciple, and multiply. Today, Chantrea actively serves in children's, youth, and adult ministries, sharing her faith and transforming lives. |
Pok Sokan
Discipleship & Adult Outreach In 1994, while living in an orphanage, Sokan's life took a profound turn when he encountered Jesus. This discovery led to his baptism and the blossoming of his faith.
Having received a salvation he never imagined possible, Sokan is now driven by a deep passion to share Jesus with others, to disciple new believers, and to see their numbers grow. Sokan, eventually, was ordained as a pastor and served a local church for many years. Now, through Cambodia Village Outreach (CVO), a new chapter has begun where he can fully utilize his gifts and talents in proclaiming the Gospel, nurturing believers, and raising up disciples. Today at CVO, Sokan actively serves in Discipleship and Adult Outreach, connecting with youth and adults, sharing his faith, and witnessing the transformation of lives. |
