Damson’s journey is a testament to the power of sponsorship and the grace of God. After high school, facing significant financial barriers, his future was uncertain. However, because someone had a heart to share Jesus' love, he was sponsored to attend law school. He graduated from the Royal University of Law and Economics (RULE), one of Cambodia’s most prestigious institutions, with two Bachelor of Laws degrees—one in Khmer and one in English (Common Law). Having been a sponsored student himself, Damson understands deeply that when we invest in one person, we are investing in the future of a nation.

The history of Cambodia is marked by the shadows of the Khmer Rouge genocide—a time of unimaginable loss. Damson’s family was among those who fled the violence, seeking refuge in a camp in Thailand. He was born into that environment: a world defined by fear, poverty, and a pervasive sense of hopelessness.
Yet, in the midst of that dark and forgotten place, the light of the Gospel reached his family. They were told of a God who saw them, loved them, and desired to rescue them. Through Jesus Christ, Damson’s family found true freedom—not just from their circumstances, but from the weight of the past. This transformation became the compass for his life’s work. |
While navigating the rigors of law school, Damson spent his university years volunteering and sharing the Gospel with fellow students. It was during this season of ministry that he met his wife, Jenn. Together, they served the youth of Cambodia for four years, discipling a new generation to walk in the love of God.
Before relocating to the United States in 2009, Damson served part-time as a caseworker for the non-profit Children in Families, advocating for vulnerable children to ensure they received care within their own families. After five years in the U.S.—during which he worked in hospitality, pursued IT studies at Alamance Community College, and gained his US citizenship—the call to the rural villages of his homeland remained unshakable. In 2014, Damson and Jenn returned to Cambodia, moving to the Siem Reap province to begin the work of Cambodia Village Outreach (CVO).
What began as a small mission has grown into a movement of restoration. In 2023, after nine years of dedicated service, CVO became a 501(c)(3) non-profit under Beyond Border Outreach Inc. Today, the ministry reaches thousands across Cambodia, meeting physical needs through clean water, food relief, and education, while sharing the life-changing message of Jesus. Through their efforts, many who had never heard His name have come to trust in Him as their Lord and Savior.
Damson and Jenn currently live part-time in North Carolina, where the CVO headquarters is located, while spending a significant part of the year on the ground in Cambodia leading a local team of missionaries. They are the proud parents of an adopted son from China and are currently in the process of adopting more children from India. As a family, they serve together to see lives transformed for the glory of God.
Looking back, Damson knows that God had a greater plan for him—to reach the unreached and to invite others to participate in the Great Commission firsthand through prayer, giving, and mission trips, impacting lives for the Kingdom.
"I am a witness that no child is too lost and no village is too remote for the hope of Christ to find them."

At CVO, we are all about glorifying God by living out His commandments. We provide both spiritual and physical support to communities, empowering and equipping local Cambodian missionaries to reach their unreached people.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
