The Path to a New Purpose: Chantrea’s Story
Growing up in a devout Buddhist family, Chantrea's life was deeply intertwined with her religious traditions. The pursuit of truth and a life outside this framework wasn't even a consideration. Little did she know, a different path awaited her. When her family faced financial difficulties in supporting her higher education, Chantrea was compelled to explore other options.
A Leap of Faith
A pivotal moment arrived when she had the opportunity to move to Siem Reap city in Cambodia to pursue her aspirations at a Christian Center. It was there that a new chapter in her life began to unfold. Although her initial exposure to the Gospel led to rejection, the seeds of faith were sown in her heart.
The Moment of Surrender
Life soon brought Chantrea to a breaking point. Faced with a series of overwhelming and unjust trials, she found herself at the end of her own strength. In an act of radical humility, she reached out to the one person she had heard could carry her burdens: Jesus.
In a miraculous turn of events, her prayers were answered and her circumstances transformed. But the greatest miracle wasn't the resolution of her problems—it was the profound realization that Jesus was real, deeply personal, and intimately invested in her life.
A Life Multiplied
Transformed by this love, Chantrea’s heart immediately turned toward her home. She began to pray for the children and families in her village, longing for them to experience the same salvation and "greater purpose" she had found.
Today, through the support of Cambodia Village Outreach (CVO), Chantrea is living out that calling. From teaching children, youth to mentoring adults, she is no longer just a student of life—she is a light, evangelizing and discipling her community so that many more may find their way home.
